We’ve just released our first full EP with the amazing Stroboscopic Artefact’s today.
Here’s what some nice humans said about it.
Strong stuff. The club tracks are as prickly and particulate as Lakker’s best, but most interesting is ‘Asvattha’ which doesn’t really sound like any other ‘experimental’ techno I’ve heard before.
This is at its best when he hits a hypnotic groove – I could listen to the first 20 or 30 bars of ‘Nevada’ for hours, but after that it just gets better through restraint. The opening section of ‘Asvattha’ could be Monolake (and as I’m sure you know, I mean that as a compliment), before turning into something that’s Lakker’s alone. An impressive EP.

The last year was a good year for us. Before we move on to bigger and better things in 2013 here’s a recap of our 2012…
Our first gig of the year was at the mighty !Kaboogie‘s 6th birthday bash in February. Also on the bill was Ms Dynamite, Champion and the !K Djs. We had the forethought to record our set so here it is:
April saw the release of the ‘Arc EP’ on Blueprint records, receiving support from Surgeon, Luke Slater, Silent Servant, Pfirter, Ben Sims and more. Check out reviews from Inverted Audio and Resident Advisor.

June we played our first UK date at Glade festival on the Overkill stage, alongside DJ Rashad, Boddika, Randomer and loads more. Much fun was had. Not as much fun was had at Bloc, which we all know what happened there, so our London debut had to wait til August at the Lightbox with Darkstar, Luke Vibert, Kryptic Minds, deBruit and more.
Mixmag gave away a free track of ours ‘Flunky’ to promote the gig. Get it here:
Also in August we did a mix for Rob Booth’s excellent Electronic Explorations series.
You can download the mix here or stream on Mixcloud:
August was a busy month for us, playing also at the Krake festival in Berlin alongside Tim Exile and Ceephax Acid Crew. We finally got to debut our AV show to a Berlin crowd after technical difficulties last time we played. Some footage of it is here in this promo clip:

Our final bit of output for 2012 was a podast for one of our favourite labels, Killekill. With this podcast we wanted to show the type of thing we may play in a DJ set, so it’s beat heavy, banging and for the ‘floor.
See you next year 🙂
